Sunday, Sept. 30

Social Media Photo Contest (Begins)

Time: Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. - Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
Location: Online

It’s time to share! Share your Homecoming pictures with us by tagging Campus Programming and Relations in your post or comments on Instagram: @cpr_platteville or Twitter: @Platteville_cpr along with the hashtag “#UWPHC18” to earn points for your organization! The competition begins on Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m. and ends Friday, October 5 at 6 p.m. Show us that “The Future is Ours!” Check out the rulebook to find out more specifications about the Social Media Contest! Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Banner Ceremony

Time: 3 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Crossing

Kick off Homecoming Week 2018 the right way! Your team will decorate a banner to be hung up in the Markee Pioneer Student Center for Homecoming Week. Banners need to be completed by Thursday, September 27 at 8:00 P.M. and to the CPR Office in the PIC. Make sure to be there by 6:00 P.M. to add the grommets to your banner! The Banner Ceremony will take place in the Pioneer Crossing on Sunday, September 30 at 3:00 P.M. Check-in begins at 2:30 P.M. Check out the Banner Ceremony rules in the Homecoming Rulebook to find out banner size requirements and other specifications for the event. Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Food Fight (Begins)

Time: Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. - Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Involvement Center

Come one, come all and take place in this year’s Homecoming Food Fight! The battle begins Sunday, September 30 at 5:00 P.M. in the Pioneer Involvement Center (PIC) and will finish Friday, October 5 at 6:00 P.M. Points will be earned per food item that is brought in. Make sure to check out the rules to see which items receive a certain amount of points. Decorated boxes must be turned in by Thursday, September 27 at 8 P.M. to the CPR Office in the PIC. Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Reverse Tug of War

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: PAC Pool, Williams Fieldhouse
 

Have you ever participated in Tug of War…in the water? Whether you have never heard of Reverse Water Tug or you are a pro at this Homecoming event, it is a guaranteed good time! Reverse Water Tug will take place on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 7 P.M. in the PAC pool.

Here is a run-down of this event: Reverse Water Tug is a tournament-style event consisting of two canoes connected by a rope. Each team will have three rowers in a canoe facing away from the other team. Both teams will begin rowing at the sound of the whistle and will try to pull the other team’s canoe across the centerline. The first team to pull the other team across the centerline wins! However, be careful, any teams that capsize during the competition will be disqualified! Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Monday, Oct. 1

Trivia

Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Pioneer Crossing

Is your team up for the challenge? On Monday, October 1 in the Pioneer Crossing, teams will be gathered to participate in Team Trivia during Homecoming Week! Test your knowledge and skill and compete to see who will be the Trivia Masters! Check-in starts at 5:30 P.M. with Trivia starting at 6 P.M.  Start brushing up on your trivia skills and sign your Homecoming team up! Tuesday, Oct. 2

 

Yell Like Hell

Time: 7 p.m. 
Location: Volleyball game vs. Simpson College -- Bo Ryan Court, Williams Fieldhouse

Scream, cheer, and work as a team to compete in this year’s Yell Like Hell Homecoming Event! Points are based on the loudest, most spirited, enthusiastic and creative groups as well as those who demonstrate excellent sportsmanlike conduct. Check-in begins Tuesday, October 2 at 6:15 P.M. and will go until 6:40 P.M. inside Williams Fieldhouse. Yell Like Hell starts at 6:45 P.M. inside on Bo Ryan Court. The Pioneer volleyball team will be taking on Simpson College and they need you to Yell Like Hell and cheer them on! Wednesday, Oct. 3

Tug of War

Time: 4-6 p.m.
Location: Memorial Park

CPR has just declared war. TUG OF WAR. Put on your face paint and marching shoes for one of CPR’s favorite homecoming events. The war will take place on Wednesday, October 3 at 4 P.M. in Memorial Park. Homecoming teams will compete against each other to see who pulls to the top! Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 4

 

Variety Show: Lip Sync Edition

Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Center for the Arts

Hey Pioneers! Show off your lip-syncing talent while having a great time with your organization! Do not forget to sign up for the Homecoming Variety Show! It will take place on Thursday, October 4 at 7 P.M. in the Center for the Arts! Make sure your organization brings a flash drive with the music that you want to use to the CPR office in the Pioneer Involvement Center by Friday, September 28 before 4 P.M. It may be difficult to fit all of your organization’s talent into a 5-minute window but make sure to follow the 5-minute maximum performance rule. We will see you and your sweet moves on stage! Friday, Oct. 5

House Decorations

Time: 4 p.m.

Location: Res Halls and Houses in the Community

You’ve got spirit, yes you do. You’ve got spirit now let your house show it! The Homecoming Week House Decorations Contest will take place on Friday, October 5 starting at 4:00 P.M. Your Homecoming group will work together to decorate your house or residence hall. Be creative and have fun! Check out the House Decoration Rules in the Homecoming Rule Book to find out more information about the requirements. Saturday, Oct. 6

Float Judging

Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Jay Street

All on-campus organizations are eligible to enter the float judging competition! Check-in goes from 7:30 A.M - 8:30 A.M. on the corner of Jay Street and Championship Drive. Parade

Time: 10 a.m.
Location: Main Street

The parade is coming! The parade is coming on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m! Grab a spot on the curb of Main Street in Platteville and enjoy the whimsical wonders of the attraction reflecting the Homecoming theme. Sign your Homecoming team up and complete the Main Entry Form by Friday, September 21 by 6:00 P.M. Football Game vs. UW-River Falls

Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium

Torch Relay

Time: 7:45 p.m.
Location: Ullsvik Hall

What's cracking, Pioneers? Have you seen the lighting of The Platte Mound “M”? If not, make sure you stop by Torch Relay on October 6 at 7:45 PM. Beginning at Ullsvik Hall, one person from each team will begin the race. At the 2 designated stops, runners will hand the torch to the next runner until they have reached the final destination: The Platte Mound “M”. At this point, we will light The “M”. Lighting of the "M"

Time: 9 p.m.
Location: Platteville Mound

Saturday, Oct. 6 is the day that you all have been waiting for! In conclusion of one of the best homecoming weeks ever, we have the lighting of the world’s largest “M” at 9 p.m. located at the Platte Mound. The event consists of a full fireworks display, Marching Pioneers, and a community united. You will not want to miss this spectacular night!
