About Neal Wilkins After School Care
Age Group: 4-6 years old
The After School Care Program is new to Neal Wilkins, but continues on in the Children's Center tradition. Children will be offered opportunities for both quiet and more physical play. In the school room, children can work on homework, read books, play board games, do art projects, or participate in planned activities. In the indoor playground, children will have an opportunity to develop their gross motor skills, as well as working off some of the energy they have built up during the school day.
In the After School Care Program, learning continues through hands-on activities and through play as in our other classrooms. There are many opportunities for the children to play and interact with friends while learning. The activities and projects planned are developed to help the children become more independent with their self-help skills as well as their small and large motor skills. The children also learn how to socially interact with their friends and teachers.
The children are exposed to many early literacy skills. They are encouraged to be independent and responsible for their own actions. The Children's Center is a place where children are all “friends” and love and respect is shown to everyone who enters.
