Sky's the Limit: Reaching for the Sky

Friday, December 6, 2013 - 4:00pm to Sunday, December 8, 2013 - 2:00pm
Engineering Hall

Have you ever considered why it seems like the roads are always in need of repair? Had to stop on a dime to avoid a crash? Wondered why texting and driving is such a big deal?

Come along on our weekend “road trip” as we navigate the ins, outs, and roundabouts of modern roadways. Fasten your seatbelt—you’ll be in the metaphorical driver’s seat for lots of hands-on activities and projects that will take your knowledge of transportation and engineering from zero to expert in three days’ time. Along the way, you’ll learn about the cool ways engineers, scientists, and mathematicians help our society, meet some inspiring STEM students and professionals, interact and work in teams with other women who share your interest in STEM, and begin to discover new career paths.

Reaching for the Sky is an overnight weekend experience for girls in grades 11 and 12. Participants will stay on campus at the Cooper Living Learning Center on the Pioneer Farm.
