Pioneer Investment Club
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer Investment Club was established in 2001 to provide an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of finance through portfolio management.
The Pioneer Investment Club manages a portfolio of investments valued at over $500,000. The club allows students from any major to come together and work as a team to achieve both academic and financial goals. Any student can pitch security to the club and if they are successful the club will buy the security and add it to their portfolio.
Meetings are held once a week to discuss and research possible future investments along with its current portfolio holdings. The Pioneer Investment Club researches different investment philosophies and discusses many different aspects of the field of finance. There are no membership fees involved with this organization and all students are welcome to join. Contact the faculty advisor, John Hammermeister, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
