Rountree Wind Symphony

The Rountree Wind Symphony, a professional wind band under the direction of Barry Ellis, director of bands at UW-Platteville, will present their inaugural concert at 7:30 pm on Oct. 20.  The concert is titled "A Musical Connection: James Clifton Williams, Williams Francis McBeth and James Henry Fillmore."  Music will be performed by each of these composers.  Featured performers are trumpet soloist David Cooper, chair of the UW-Platteville Performing and Visual Arts; and UW-Platteville's Singing Pioneers under the director of Bob Demaree, director of choral activities at UW-Platteville.  The Rountree Wind Symphony is an ensemble of exceptionally talented musicians.  Their roster is comprised of the wind and percussion faculty, selected students and alumni from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and regional professional musicians from Southern Wisconsin and Eastern Iowa.  Their inaugural recording “Classics and Newly Discovered Gems” was released commercially on Mark Records in 2012.
