December E-newsletter

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Come join us and enjoy the sounds of the season on Dec. 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. when our music department hosts the annual Holiday Gala at the Center for the Arts. It is an enlivening evening!

We invite you to celebrate with our December graduates and new alumni during the commencement ceremonies taking place on Dec. 16 at Williams Fieldhouse.  Ceremony times are as follows: The College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture at 9 a.m.; the College of Liberal Arts and Education and the School of Graduate Studies at 12:30 p.m.; and the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science at 4 p.m.

Thanks to all who made this year’s Homecoming Hustle a fantastic success.
All monies collected went to fund the Kirk U’ren/Jennifer Steiner Scholarship.  Because of the generosity and hard work of many alumni and friends this scholarship will become endowed.

On Jan. 23 and 25, 2018, we will host alumni socials in Fort Myers and The Villages, Florida, respectively. More information will follow in the January e-newsletter.

The Alumni Association board of directors meeting will be held on Jan. 20, 2018 at UW-Platteville from 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

This is the time of year for new resolutions. I encourage you to make one of your resolutions to become more involved with our university and help foster its mission by offering your time, talent, and/or financial support. Please check the university website or call our office at 608.342.1181 for information about activities and events. Grab the opportunity to (re)engage.

I leave you with this thought from Josephine Dodge Daskam Bacon: “Remember this December that love weighs more than gold.”

Forever. Pioneers.

Phil Molldrem
Alumni Association Board President
