Join friends, family and alumni of UW-Platteville on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Kohler, Wisconsin for a tour of the Kohler Factory at 10:00 a.m. followed by an optional self guided tour of the design center.

There is no cost to attend this event.

The "Industry in Action" factory tour is for anyone who's ever wondered how their KOHLER® bathtub or faucet was made. The tour tells the history behind the nation’s largest plumbing-ware manufacturer and takes visitors through numerous buildings—Pottery, Brass Building and Foundry—that create everything from vitreous china bathroom sinks to massive 6-foot cast iron tubs. Includes information about Kohler's innovative Arts/Industry Program.

The Kohler Design Center is a three-level showcase of innovative product design and technology, creative achievement and American history. A fusion of old and new, the space offers a comprehensive representation of Kohler Co.'s state-of-the-art products and stunning examples of the company's contributions to gracious living and interior design. A source of inspiration for more than 150,000 consumers, builders, architects and designers each year, the Kohler Design Center, with its three levels, is a curious mix of past, present and future. The building was originally used as a recreation hall for residents of the Village of Kohler. In 1985 it was transformed into a 36,000-square-foot showcase for the extensive array of quality products offered by the Kohler family of businesses. Every detail is presented with energy and innovation to reinforce the company's image as a leader in technology, color and style.
