Progress is the Pioneer way. We are a university originally founded in education and mining, but we’ve grown considerably since those days and we offer much more. Our programs offer variety and specialization and embody our drive to prepare students for careers in the 21st century.
At UW-Platteville, classes are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. Faculty and staff are committed to student engagement, both in and out of the classroom. Students are encouraged to practice what they learn through collaborative projects, undergraduate research and creative endeavors, study abroad opportunities, and real-world experiences.
Students who are exploring majors receive assistance from the Career and Professional Development Office in selecting courses that meet the general education requirements to stay on track for graduation while deciding on a major. CPDO is just one example of the comprehensive array of Student Services available.
