Testing Accommodations

Private Study Room

The Testing Center offers testing accommodations for students who require alternatives to classroom testing.

  • The Testing Center prioritizes the needs of students who have a current Verified Individualized Services and Accommodations (VISA) completed by Services for Students with Disabilities. Students with VISAs should first discuss those accommodation needs with their instructors. If the instructor cannot provide the required accommodations, the student and the instructor can fill out the Alternative Testing Request Form together.
  • While the Testing Center must prioritize the needs of students with VISAs, any instructor may submit an Alternative Testing Request form to try to schedule a makeup or retake exam for any student. Based on scheduling needs, the Testing Center will make every effort to accommodate the request.

The Alternative Testing Request form must be submitted to the Testing Center two to three days prior to the exam. For midterms and final exams, the form must be submitted one week in advance. The exam itself must be submitted to the Testing Center at least 24 hours prior to the exam time.

Testing Center Rules

No unauthorized aids (notes, calculators, bags, books, etc...) will be allowed in the testing room. This includes cell phones, laptops, iPods, iPads, MP3 players, or any other electronic device not authorized by the instructor. Use of any unauthorized materials or items will be considered academic misconduct and will not be tolerated.

Be on time. The exam will start and end at the date and time approved by the instructor. Any time missed will not be made up.

Be prepared. Have a photo ID and all approved materials with you.

Any form of academic misconduct will result in the exam being stopped, and the incident will be reported to the instructor for consideration.
