Student Academic Success Seminars

Held in the fall and spring semesters of each academic year, peer mentors direct a series of one hour Student Academic Success (SAS) seminars designed to assist first-year students in their transition to campus. These student mentors are successful undergraduates who share what they wish they had known as first-year students. These seminars are conducted primarily in the evenings right on campus.

Session topics include:

  • Prepping for Exams and study skills
  • Campus Resources and how to use them
  • Campus Technology- utilizing it and finding Studying apps
  • Holistic Living
  • Note takingĀ
  • Learning styles
  • Time management
  • Gaming and College Life
  • Education Abroad
  • Becoming financially responsible
  • Plus more!
