Meet the Tutors
Elinor Burton, English Literature and Professional Writing Major, Creative Writing and Spanish Minor
Hi! I'm Elinor, a senior double majoring in Literature and Professional Writing with minors in Creative Writing and Spanish. I started working at the Writing Center in Fall 2015, so this will be my fifth semester here. In addition to reading and writing, I love gaming (especially Dungeons and Dragons) and am a member of the Platteville Gaming Association. I want to be a novel editor and hope to work with a publishing company in Madison after I graduate.
McKenna Farmer, Civil Engineering Major
This is McKenna’s third semester as a Writing Consultant and her second year at UW-Platteville. She is a Civil Engineering major and spends much of her time in Otts and Engineering Hall. She enjoys a wide range of writing, especially research and persuasive essays. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies with her friends, and taking Buzzfeed quizzes. She is excited to help students of all majors feel confident with their writing!
Aaliyah Hannah, Criminal Justice and Political Science Major
Aaliyah is studying Criminal Justice and Political Science. This is her third semester working as a writing consultant and she is very excited to work with different writing styles and assignments that come her way! She especially likes working with research papers. In her free time she can be found shopping, hiking, reading, watching Netflix and cuddling with her kitties Rogelio and Miabella.
Dalton Miles, English Education major
Dalton is studying English Education, and this is his first semester as a consultant. He is excited to work with students from a variety of different writing backgrounds and experiences. He also writes and edits for the Exponent so he understands that writing comes in all stages and that it is a process to reach success.
Abbey Pignatari, Professional Writing major (Pre-Law Program) and Women and Gender Studies minor
This is Abbey’s second semester working as Writing Center tutor and her third semester here at UW-Platteville. She is very excited to be a part of the Writing Center team because she loves to help other students grow with their own writing skills. Abbey has always had a passion for reading and writing, and in her free time she can be found reading, watching documentaries, or working on organizing random things. Abbey is a part of Sigma Tau Delta, the National English Honors Society (and she encourages you to check it out). She enjoys working on research papers in either MLA or APA format, but she is always up for a challenge and is willing to help with anything that comes her way.
Ashley Pikalek, Criminal Justice major and Forensic Investigation minor
Ashley is a Criminal Justice major and minoring in Forensic Investigation. UW-Platteville is her fourth college since starting in 2013, and she has finally found a major she plans to get a degree in after changing about seven different times. This is her first semester as a Writing Center Consultant and she enjoys helping others write papers or brainstorm ideas so that they can someday enjoy writing as much as she does.
Kallie Riker, Music Major
Kallie is a senior Instrumental and General Music Education major from Durand, Wisconsin. You can typically find her playing saxophone, singing with her sisters in Sigma Alpha Iota, giving a campus tour, watching Netflix (The Office, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, and Parks & Rec are her favs!) or napping with her cats, Rhubarb and Finn. She is on her third year as a consultant at the Writing Center and she is happy to help all majors enjoy writing!
Kaitlyn Saeger, Forensic Investigation and Biology major
This is Kaitlyn’s first semester in the writing center and fifth year studying at UW-Platteville. She is excited to work with students on any of their writing needs. She especially enjoys writing and preparing research papers. In her free time, Kaitlyn is an avid Netflix watcher and enjoys cuddling with her hedgehog Olive.
Laini Taylor, Business Administration Major, emphasis in Marketing
This is Laini's second year working as a consultant at the Writing Center, as well as her second year at UW-Platteville. She loves helping others, and is excited to be a part of the Writing Center team so she can help students improve and become more confident in their writing.
Justin Wartzenluft -- Professional Writing and Literature Major with a Creative Writing Minor
Justin is a former civil engineering student who fell out of the program and into the arms of English. He enjoys writing papers at 2 AM but is more than happy to work with you during normal business hours. His favorite animal is a fox but unfortunately for him his mother refuses to take care of it while he goes to school. Justin hopes to stay out of crippling debt when he goes off to graduate school.
