Racing technique courtesy of Roger Paris & Fletcher Anderson, received at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School on the Roaring Fork River in Carbondale, Colorado. On one run down the Crystal or Roaring Fork Fletcher said, "Go over there," so I did and got eaten alive by converging currents where any brace just got sucked down. Rolling up with the icy water hammering in my ears, the first thing I saw was a huge smile on Fletcher's face as he just witnessed the inevitable outcome. 15 September 1981 |  |
