"No excuse is acceptable, no amount of effort adequate until it is effective." Anonymous

'The world is positively hungry for young men who have dedicated themselves to big jobs. If your present professors aren't training you for such work, quit them and find others who will drive you. If your present college isn't making you work to the limit of your ability, drop out and go to another that will. Because if you don't discipline your brain now, you'll never be prepared for the years when it's a question of work or perish.'
James Michener, 1962

Summer in Japan
Click Here or on the Map Click here to find out more about the Japan Trip!!

Each summer, in conjunction with the University of Kentucky Japanese Studies Program, I lead a group of students on a 5-6 week trip to Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Ken, in Kyushu, Japan. The first three weeks are spent traveling by rail around Japan to points of interest, from Kyushu to Hokkaido. The last portion of the trip is spent in Yatsushiro, using the facilities of the Kyushu Kokusai College,, taking field trips to surrounding islands and volcanoes as time and weather permits.
