Go to the Autodesk Student Community website

  • To download free student editions of AutoCAD & Revit software
  • Student edition software is fully functional
  • It prints “AutoDesk Student Edition Software” around the perimeter when plotting.

Autodesk Collaboration Software

  • Design Review (click for free download)
    • DR is similar to Adobe Acrobat Reader but for viewing CAD files in DWF format.
    • DR allows anybody to view CAD files without owning or knowing how to use AutoCAD, Revit, or whatever the CAD software was used to create the drawings.
    • DR allows users to add comments, lines and other annotations for design review feedback.  Eliminates the need to print and mail paper-based drawings.
  • Autodesk DWF Writer (click for free download)
    • This is a printer driver.  It is similar to PrimoPDF, 995PDF, and other print drivers which can be used to create PDF files, but this creates a DWF file.
    • After installing it, “Autodesk DWF Writer for 2D” will appear as one of the “printers” to which you can printer.  Instead of producing a hardcopy, it creates a DWF file for viewing in Design Review.
