Scholarships for Industrial Studies Students

There are a variety of scholarship opportunities for students enrolled at UWP. Some are available to all UWP students; some for students with majors within the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture; and others for students within the various programs in the Department of Industrial Studies.

ABC of Wisconsin Dave Torkelson Memorial Scholarship ▲

• Note: This scholarship is NOT administered by UWP but by ABC of Wisconsin; therefore, the various scholarship and financial aid offices on the UWP campus will not be any help. The student must deal with the ABC of Wisconsin directly.
• Eligibility requirements
• Student enrolled in an approved undergraduate construction-related program
• Student has completed at least one year in a baccalaureate degree program with at least one full year left.
• Active membership in an ABC of Wisconsin Student Chapter which for UWP is CMA.
• Minimum GPA of 3.00
• Previous scholarship recipients may apply in consecutive years.
• Application details
• Application forms: Obtained directly from the trust administrator. The address is ABC of Wisconsin Apprenticeship and Training Trust, Dave Torkelson Memorial Scholarship, 5330 Wall Street, Madison, WI 53718.
• Application packet includes:
1. completed and signed application form
2. an academic transcript
3. enclosed advisor’s evaluation sent directly to the Trust
4. letter of recommendation from the most current employer on company letterhead—if not employed then a letter of recommendation from a department faculty member is required

• Deadline: for 2007-2008 the application must be postmarked or received by email no later than October 15, 2007.
