Do you know an outstanding academic advisor in the college?
Consider nominating him/her for the academic advisor award.  Click here for Details & nomination form

1) See the Class Schedule in Peoplesoft https://iron.ad.uwplatt.edu/lspd1/signon.html   then "Academic Tools" then "PeopleSoft Sa Site"

2)  Find Out How many Credits you have EARNED  (Not including the Current Semester) in Peoplesoft (Also Posted on Advising Bulletin Board 6th Floor Tower)

3)  See Peoplesoft (Enrollment Appointment) Find Out When You are Scheduled To Register  "Appointment" (Determined by # of EARNED Credits)

4)  Set Up an Appointment with your Advisor (You will need to Sign Up for a Time Slot on the Sheet that is Next to the Instructor's door at 608 Pioneer Tower -  You will sign up for an appointment which corresponds to the number of EARNED Credits) (If you don't know who your adviser is, check the bulletin board on 6th floor tower or find advisor in People Soft under "Academics") You must set up the appointment 24 hours in advance and must include your phone number

5)  BEFORE you meet with the Advisor you must Create as least 2 Tentative Schedules.  Use the software UW-Platteville Class List & Schedule Tool (Program Download) to make 2 schedules and to print out 2 forms) I will NOT see you if you have not completed this step.

You should also check Course Rotations (click here for PDF Download) to see when the classes are offered.  It may also be a good idea to keep track of what classes you took in which semester.

Check Prerequisites for each class (Either through the catalog or in people soft) COURSE DESCRIPTIONS  The Online system will NOT Register the class if you don't have the prerequisites

6)  You may wish to download software UW-Platteville Class List & Schedule Tool (Program Download)         (Note this software has been updated you will need the newest version for it to work) which will show you in close-to-real time what classes are available.  This software also contains a feature that enables easy scheduling by noting conflicts with classes that you have selected.   It will also print out the form needed for the advising session.  PLEASE NOTE:  This software is for helping you to make your schedule, IT DOES NOT REGISTER YOU FOR THE CLASSES.  IT ONLY UPDATES ONCE A DAY!  The software is also loaded on the 3rd floor (Tower) computers as well.

*  7)  Print out your  Degree Progress report From People Soft and Bring to Advising Meeting

8)  Meet with your advisor and discuss your plan and goals

(The On-line System will NOT Allow you to Register without the Pin Number-
The pin number changes EVERY semester

10) BEFORE you register take a look to see if you have any outstanding bills etc. These are called HOLDS. The system will NOT let you register if you have any outstanding obligations (Over due Books, Parking Tickets, Lab Fees, Printing fees, etc).  This is done in Peoplesoft https://boron.ad.uwplatt.edu/servlets/iclientservlet/lspd1/?cmd=login
