On January 25, a Windsor (north of Madison, WI) man burned his house down when he improperly used his fireplace. A month after Christmas, he decided it was about time to get rid of the celebratory evergreen with the use of fire and an indoor fireplace. When he realized it was impossible to fit the whole tree in the fireplace, he proceeded to burn the severly dehydrated tree with only a small section in the fireplace. Once the entire tree was engulfed in flames, he immeadiatly removed the tree from the fireplace and frantically took it outside, lighting much of the house on fire along the way. The house was a total loss.
