Father's Day: Revisited
I did almost everything that I planned to do on Father's Day. However, I did not end up going to see my folks last Sunday. My father had to work that day, so my mother said to stay and have fun with the family.
So we ended up staying home the whole day. I started up the smoker around noon, and smoked a chicken and a pork roast. Nekole's folks came up for supper. The kids played with their grandparents, and all had a good time.
Later that night we went disc golfing at the UW-Platteville campus. I have heard my students talk about disc golfing but I've never played. I stopped down at the bike shop on Main St in Platteville, and the sell the discs. Max and I bought four generic discs so everyone in the family could play. Nekole, Max, Mic, and I only played 9 holes, but it was definitely fun. I can't really say that Mic played, but he threw his disc a lot. After 9 holes he needed to be carried back to the van.
So even though I didn't do everything that I planned to do on my day, I did have fun. Now the family has a new 'sport' that we can play together.
