The Dirt on Me
So today I reveal the dirt (er something.)
Today is going to be a house work day. I plan on working on my wall some more. Actually, I plan on moving a lot of dirt today, to backfill parts of the Great Wall O'Frommelt.
The dirt I have is the fill dirt that I dug out to make the retaining wall, and I still have a small pile of dirt from five years ago when I put in the brick walkway in the back of the house. If things go well today, I plan on moving all of those piles to the front of the house to finish the backfilling.

I'm still waiting for good dirt from the local excavating company. That goes in the lower flower bed of the wall project. Apparently a lot of people are doing landscaping this year because the excavating company is out of dirt. Since I have so many 'pits and valleys' in the yard, and a I need a lot of dirt for the flower bed, I've asked for a fifteen yard (one full dump truck) load. I'll see how far I get today, and if I think that's too much, then I can call back and scale it down some. Hopefully it comes in soon so I can get some flowers to put in there soon. There's not much left in the way of plants at any of the greenhouses in the area. It's too late in the season.
I will go this week and pick up another pallet of block to continue the work on the front of the house. The retaining wall and stairs are only the beginning of the project. I still have a pretty large list of things TO DO:

- brick walkway in front of the house
- take out the tree in the front yard
- rip out the old steps
- fill and seed the front yard
- front porch gets:
- new brick decking, block and caps
- new roofing
- new lighting
- strip and paint porch
- put in post yard light (matches porch light)
- wire the yard light and outlet in flower bed
- install reflecting pool in flower bed
- touch up painting on the front of the house
The reflecting pool sits on the small brick pad in the flower bed. I have an outdoor outlet ready to go for it already, and I can use the outlet to put up lights in the wintertime too. It's going to be a long summer project, but the front of the house should look great when it's all done!
BTW: I was going to title this post, "Airing my dirty laundry", but laundry day was yesterday!
