Mission of the AudioVisual Instructional Laboratory (Educational Media Lab):

Educational Media is that branch of educational theory and practice which concerns itself with the design and presentation of instructional messages and the measurement of responses to those messages. It is the systematic application of research, learning theory, emergent technologies, to solving instructional problems. Educational Media can be divided into four components:

Design activities include analyzing the needs of the learners, (following the ASSURE Model or other appropriate instructional model) and developing individualized and instructor-assisted learning plans. Production involves creating learning materials such as computer multimedia productions , visual displays, video tapes, and interactive audiovisual kits.

For more information or instructions, contact the AVLAB (1250). All patrons, students, staff and faculty, must present a valid UW-P identification card to use AV Equipment. Please, purchase a Lab Card from Doudna 139 if you want to use supplies in the AV Lab.

Equipment Check Out:

Professional tape recorders (cassete and digital) are available for check out by faculty or students. Loan periods vary from thirty minutes to two hours. For extended check out, advance reservation and other exceptions special approval is required. Contact Dr. Nkemnji (1244) for additional information.

Lab Supplies:

Students are responsible for knowing the information available in the course syllabus, texts and hand outs. The syllabus contains policies, and assignment. A Lab Card is essential to purchase supplies. The card is purchased from Doudna 139. Click here for a list of prices. There is no charge for the use of AV Lab equipment.
