This UW-Platteville Women in Engineering, Mathematics and Science Program event introduces young women to exciting and world-changing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as STEM fields. Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to work in teams to complete hands-on projects that promote diversity and inclusivity, learn about how careers in STEM fields help our society, and interact with STEM professionals. The hands-on activities will be focused on learning about building safe and livable communities. Livable communities include effective transportation systems that provide multiple modes for all community members. Participants will be interacting with each other, college students and professionals all while participating in exciting and challenging projects related to STEM. The full weekend event will be held on the UW-Platteville campus, with the participants staying in the Cooper Living and Learning Center at the UW-Platteville Pioneer farm overnight.
The Dreaming of the Sky weekend program will be held in conjunction with the Pioneering Your Future program on the UW-Platteville campus. This one-day event provides a non-overnight option for girls to experience a fun and exciting day of math, science and technology exploration. Dreaming of the Sky participants will be participating in this one-day event as part of the full-weekend experience. However, some participants may opt to participate in only the Pioneering Your Future Program.
If you have a disability and desire accommodations, please call 608.342.1563 or email skysthelimit@uwplatt.edu as far in advance as possible.
