Making your web space

There are two ways to get the files to the Novell Web Space.

If you are connected to the UWP network with a Novell NetWare Client

PC Version

• Open up "My Computer"
• Open up the J: drive
• Make a folder called, "public_html"
• Save the HTML files in the created folder

Mac Version

• Log into the Network
  • Mac OS X http://www.uwplatt.edu/oit/howto/mountvolumeafp-osx.html
  • Mac OS 9 http://www.uwplatt.edu/oit/howto/mountvolumeafp-os9.html
  • Open "User1 Volume"
• Make a folder called, "public_html" within your home directiory
• Save HTML files in the created folder

If you are not connected to the UWP network

• FTP into NetWare (using WS_FTP, Fetch etc.) For FTP software see: http://www.uwplatt.edu/go/software
  • Host Name: ftp.nw.uwplatt.edu
  • Username: (your UW-Platteville NetID)
  • Password: (your password)
• Make a directory (folder) called "public_html"
• Transfer the HTML pages into the "public_html" folder with the FTP program.
• Log out of the FTP program.
