Article VIII
The following operational procedures are adopted for the Senate:
- A quorum of the Senate is defined as five voting members of the Senate.
- The Senate shall utilize Robert's Rules of Order - Revised as its definitive source regarding parliamentary procedure.
- All representatives to the Senate may vote, including the Chair, but excluding the liaisons from other governance bodies.
- A Senator may appoint an alternate to attend a meeting of the Senate in the event of the Senator's absence. An alternate must meet the eligibility requirements for election as a Senator from the area represented by the absent Senator. The alternate will have full voting privileges at the Senate meeting.
