Information on safety and security is provided by Campus Police to residence hall wings, student organizations and fraternities or sororities regularly through handouts, films, crime alerts, posters or brochures. Some programs that have been presented include Alcohol Awareness, Drunk Driving and Sexual Assault. Campus Police have an officer assigned in the area of Crime Prevention. Programs are available by contacting Campus Police.

At the beginning of the school year, programs are held within the residence halls to familiarize students with campus security procedures and to increase student awareness of safety and security issues. At initial wing meetings with residents, student resident assistants discuss safety and security procedures and issues with resident students. The Department of Student Housing promptly notifies students and staff of any security incidents in the residence halls community that pose a threat to the safety and security of residents.

During September, each residence hall wing is provided a program addressing the issues of sexual assault in a collegiate environment. These one-hour programs are facilitated by one or more peer educators who have been trained in the presentation of this topic.

Individuals with questions regarding safety and security should contact Campus Police (106 Royce Hall, 342-1584).
