The Grant County Victim/Witness Assistance Program is a source of information and support for victims and witnesses of crime. The program is sensitive to many and varied needs of victims and their families. The Victim/Witness Coordinator acts as a mediator and advocate for the victims in the justice system. |

You have the right:
- to know the final outcome of your case.
- to be notified if a court proceedings will not go as scheduled
- to be informed of financial assistance, and to any Human Services available
- to be paid a witness fee.
- to have property returned speedily, whenever possible.
- to attend any or all court appearances and to a secure waiting area during court proceeding.
- to be heard at the time of sentencing.
- to a speedy disposition of your case.
- and families of homicide victims have all rights offered to victims.

- Notify victims or witnesses when a criminal charge is decided and filed.
- Information on criminal procedures and the progress of the case through the court system.
- Advise victims or witnesses of the next court appearance.
- Provide support and escort services for victims or witnesses of a crime to and in court.
- Refer victims and their families to community agencies for additional services.
- Refer and assist victims to the information for Crime Victim Compensation Program.
- Assist in submitting requests to the Court for victims to recover losses.
- Advise victims or witnesses when court hearings are canceled or postponed.
- Notify victims of sentencing.
