University Information and Communications STAFF
Paul has been with UW-Platteville since 1996, and with UIC since 2010. As the public information officer, he is responsible for coordinating the university's responses for external queries. In the last two years, he has chaired the Mascot Committee and the Website Transition Project. Previously, Paul served as the Sports Information Director, and his basketball programs were voted the best in the nation among all non-NCAA Division I schools. He is a UW-Eau Claire graduate.
As the assistant director for publishing, Johanna oversees the publications and marketing departments. She helps guide the university in communicating UW-Platteville’s brand to internal and external audiences. Johanna started working in Publications in 2003 as a student graphic designer. She joined the staff upon her graduation from UW-Platteville in 2004, with degrees in communication technologies with an image media emphasis and fine art-graphic design emphasis.
Stephanie graduated from UW-Platteville in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in communication technology, emphasis in imaging media and minor in journalism. In 2011, she earned a degree in web design and interactive media from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Stephanie began working for Alumni Services as a web and graphic design specialist in 2008.
Diana serves as the supervisor in Pioneer Printing and Postal Services andas the workflow coordinator, agency print buyer, and licensing person for UIC. The fast-paced, deadline oriented area is a hub of activity day in and day out and she enjoys the variety of people she gets to meet. Diana has worked on campus since 2003 and is a member of the Pioneer Appeal Committee, Image Committee, Branding Committee, and has served on other committees on campus.
Tyler is a 2001 UW-Platteville graduate with a communications degree in photographic imaging and graphic design. Upon graduating he studied abroad in Japan and photographed there for eight years. He started working in UIC in 2010 and completed his master's degree in the summer of 2012.
Amy started working in Publications as a student in 1999 and joined the staff upon graduation in 2001. She earned a degree in communication technologies with a double minor in graphic arts and graphic design. She works on a diverse array of projects to keep up with the evolving needs of campus and ensures that university standards are upheld through design and review of publications. She is also a member of several campus committees.
Andy has been the UW-Platteville photographer since his undergraduate days, joining the staff in 2001. Upon earning his degree in communications technology management, he became the full-time photographer. He has established visual identity systems and web photo galleries. Andy has won numerous awards for his standout work, and in 2011 earned the UW-Platteville Academic Staff Award for Excellence.
Alison joined the UIC staff in April 2013. As a content manager, she assists with the UW-Platteville website conversion, manages website content, and writes and edits content for press releases and university publications. Originally from Knoxville, Tenn., she graduated from Boston University with a degree in journalism.
A 1997 alumnus of UW-Platteville, Dan works as lead writer and editor in UIC. His primary responsibilities include writing and editing press releases about faculty, staff, students and programs at UW-Platteville that positively impact the university’s mission. He also writes for the Alumni Today magazine, supervises student writers and helps coordinate media interviews on and off campus. Dan is the former editor of the Platteville Journal.
Pioneer Pete, Mascot
As the mascot, Pioneer Pete draws on the deep history of Platteville. He doesn't have a lot to say, but his smile shows you just how happy he is to be part of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He made his return to campus in January, 2013.
