Who is Eligible for University Tutoring Services?

Tutoring is available to any student regardless of level or grade point average.

How Much Does It Cost?

Tutoring fees are minimal at $1.50 per hour. Students are limited to six hours per week of tutoring per course.

Where is University Tutoring Services?

niversity Tutoring Services is located at 320 Brigham Hall. The office is open Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 5:00pm. and Friday 9:00-4:00 p.m.

Where will Tutoring Sessions be Conducted?

Where is a new tutoring room available on the third floor of Brigham Hall, or, with approval, sessions may take place elsewhere.

How is the Tutor Contacted?

You have the responsibility of initially making contact with your tutor. Tutors should be contacted as quickly as possible after an assignment to arrange the first session.

What if there is Not a Tutor Available for a Specific Subject?

If a tutor is not available for the subject requested, University Tutoring Services will contact the instructor and/or department for recommendations. Advertisements for tutors also appear in the Orange and Blue.

How Effective can Tutoring Be?

To receive the most benefit from tutoring, come prepared with questions for your tutor. Do homework before your tutoring session so that your tutor can help you with any difficulties you may have experienced.

Who is Eligible to Be a Tutor?

Tutors are UW-Platteville students who have received either an "A" or "B" or tested out of the course they are tutoring.

Is Tutoring a Paid Position?

Tutors are paid an hourly wages by University Tutoring Services and paychecks are issued bi-weekly by the Business Office. Stop by University Tutoring Services to obtain an application.
