KURZWEIL 3000 Web license FAQ

What is Kurzweil 3000?

Kurzweil 3000 is a text-to-speech learning tool that provides powerful reading, writing, test-taking and study skill tools that deliver a multi-sensory approach to learning and help make a school's curriculum available to all students.

What is Firefly?

Firefly is a scaled-down, web version of Kurzweil. Firefly gives you the ability to use many of the great features of Kurzweil 3000 from anywhere that you have an internet connection. Learn more about Firefly.

What is the Kurzweil 3000 Web License?

This edition involves a floating license component that is web based where the licenses are stored on the Kurzweil Education Firefly server and an Internet connection is required for access.  A user database is configured by the customer using the Firefly based web portal which allows unique user logins to the server.  It can be installed on as many machines as desired.

How do I obtain a Kurzweil 3000 Web License?

What are the System Requirements for Kurzweil 3000?

Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista with Service Pack 1 or later, or XP with Service Pack 3 or later
     (Windows 10 is supported in Kurzweil 3000 version 14.12 and later, and version 13.33 and later)
Macintosh: Minimum Intel processor, running Mac OS 10.6 through 10.11

Can I login into Firefly with the same username and password that I use to login to Kurzweil 3000?

Yes. Your username and password is the same for Firefly and the Kurzweil 3000 Web License.
