UW-Platteville Environmental Sustainability Committee began the Sustainability Award program in 2010 to acknowledge the wonderful environmental and sustainability efforts occurring within our community. This Award is given to those who have gone above and beyond to promote social, environmental, or economic sustainability on campus. See past recipients here.

And the 2014 Awards go to... 

  • MPSC / James Ball - for installing a bike repair station.
  • Steve Lemire (Dining Services) and John Schaefer (local farmer) - for composting about 250 lbs of Bridgway Commons food waste / day (since October).
  • Platteville Development Group - for lending us land near Menards to grow sunflowers this year.
  • Anthony Isabell - for promoting recycling on campus over the years.
  • The Sustainable and Renewable Energy Council - for starting the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Program (SRES).
  • German class #2340 - for exploring sustainability and environmentalism through their German studies.
