Colloquium on Spanish Culture
- Taught in English, this course is designed to insure an awareness of Seville's cultural heritage and its many contemporary manifestations. Students will do a series of written assignments based on lectures and research related to the cultural visits. The schedule for the visits usually includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Twentieth-Century Spanish History
- Taught in Spanish, this course will examine the main themes in 20th-century Spanish history, including the Spirit of ??98; Spain and World War I; the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera; the Second Republic; the Civil War; the new order under Franco; Spain??s international isolation; the transition through King Juan Carlos I and the arrival of democracy; and the latest developments under a socialist government.
- Prerequisite: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.

Intermediate Spanish I
- This course aims for the assimilation of the basic aspects of the grammar together with the development of conversational skills: communicating and understanding in any context or situation in a fluent style.
- Grammar: Simple and compound tenses of the indicative, comparative and superlative constructions, uses of prepositions/uses of "se," passive voice, relative pronouns, and the subjunctive.
- Prerequisite: 3-4 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.

SPANISH 4060

Intensive Fourth Year Composition and Conversation
- An extension of Spanish 3060, this is an intensive course aimed to develop the communicative skills of the student at a very advanced level of Spanish grammar through the interpretation and production of written and oral texts.
- Grammar: Ser and Estar, review of the indicative mood, subjunctive mood, vocabulary, proverbs, and colloquial expressions.
- Prerequisite: 6 semesters of college-level Spanish, including two courses in Composition and Conversation.
