Out-of-Pocket Costs Include:
- Accommodation (estimated at $4270 for homestay, $3480 for Ampelos Dormitory, and $1650 for Heiwa Dormitory)
- Meals not covered in accommodation cost (estimated at $500)
*This estimate is for students opting to live in a homestay or in Ampelos Dormitory as breakfasts and dinners are all included in the accommodation fee and lunch is out-of-pocket. Those students choosing to live in Kotobuki Dormitory are responsible for all of their own meals.

*Students applying for the fall term only have the option of two ending dates: late-December or early-February. For those students who need to return to their home university before mid-February for the spring term, NUFS offers the option to finish coursework early with an early assessment. Students will need to indicate their preference at the time of application, and academic year students may not elect the early assessment option.

NOTE: Please note: Late applications will be considered on a case-by-cases basis, but only applications completed by the application deadline will be eligible for consideration for homestay placements and the JASSO scholarships. Absolutely no applications will be considered after June 15 (fall and academic year applicants) orDecember 15 (spring applicants).
