Will the application process be the same if I am not a UW-Platteville student?

Yes, the application process is identical for non-UW-Platteville students.

How long does it take to get accepted?

It generally takes 5 business days to notify you of your acceptance. If necessary, you can request a same date expedited review of your application (if your application is complete).

Should I wait to submit all my application documents at the same time?

No. Turn in every form as it is completed in any order. We will keep all forms from you together until your file is complete.

What if I'm not sure about when I want to go, can keep my application on file?

Yes. You only need to apply once. You only need to pay a one-time application fee. We will keep your application on file until you decide when you want to go.

How do I know if a part of my application has been received or not?

Simply give us a call (1.800.342.1725) or email (studyabroad@uwplatt.edu). We can quickly and easily see if a part of your application has been received and what you still need.

How many participants do you take per program?

It varies from program to program. Be sure to apply early in case a program starts filling up.

Can I still apply if I have below a 2.5 GPA?

All applications will be considered. However, we may request additional information to assess your candidacy.

Can I still apply a few days after the deadline?

Please contact our office; depending on the program we may be able to accommodate late applicants.

How long should my Statement of Purpose be?

There is no right or wrong length, simply describe your reasons for applying to the program and how it will enhance your academic studies.

Who should fill out the Recommendation Forms?

At least one of the two Recommendation Forms must be filled out by one of your professors. Academic advisors and TA's are also acceptable. The second form may also be completed by a faculty member/advisor or by a current or former employer.

Is it OK if I just fax in all my application forms?

You can and should fax your forms to our office (608.342.1736) if it is close to the application deadline. However; we require original signed documents for your application to be complete for review.

Can I use my home school's application forms?

While we prefer you use our UW-Platteville official application forms, we have made exceptions to permit use of a student's home school's application forms. Please check with us to make sure your home school's application forms are sufficient.

Is the application fee refundable?

No, the application fee is not refundable.

Is the application fee part of the program price?

Yes, the application fee and the confirmation deposit are built into the overall program fee and will be deducted from the listed program price on your bill.

Is it okay that my application forms arrive before the application fee?

Yes, you can submit all parts of the application without paying the application fee; however, your file will not be reviewed until the application fee is paid.
