The Bears Den

Students working Bears Den Computer Lab

The southeast section of the second floor of the Pioneer Student Center is dedicated to technology and the partnership of academic and social learning. The Bears Den, named in honor of the University's relationship with the Chicago Bears and their investment in the University, houses over 100 computer stations.

An on-site consultant and the staffs of the Learning Technology Center, the Teaching Excellence Center and the Office of Information Technology Help Desk provide support for this general access computer lab.

The Bears Den is also home to the Hempel Collaboratory, a state-of-the-art multimedia technology lab. High-speed computers, video cameras and editors, DVD and CD players and burners, and VHS and Digital Video capture are hallmarks of this area.

The Hempel Collaboratory is available for group use; please contact the University Centers Event Planning and Reservations Office, 342-1451 for more information.

For additional information regarding the Bears Den computing resources, please visit the General Access Labs website.
