Welcome to the Markee!

The David J. and Lou Ann Markee Pioneer Student Center is the university's primary college union facility, making the Markee the gathering place for the UW-Platteville campus community.

Whether you come to the Markee to hang out, visit with friends, study for classes, teach a class, attend a program or meeting, explore involvement opportunities, surf the web, grab a bite to eat or drink, get your campus ID, or shop for UW-Platteville apparel (whew), we want you to feel at home.

Mission:

The Markee Pioneer Student Center provides students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests of the university with facilities and services for the support of daily operations and enhancement of campus life.

Purpose:

• Offer a stimulating University setting that welcomes students, faculty, staff and guests as members of the campus community
• Offer a welcoming environment that embraces and shows appreciation for diverse cultures, perspectives and individuals
• Promote learning that extends beyond the classroom
• Provide a technologically rich environment
• Provide traditional, social aspects of a student union
• Provide support for programs that complement the academic curriculum and assist the retention efforts of the University.

Policy Update:

Under the authority of the UWS 18.09(1) and the conditions described in the UW-Platteville General Policies Alcohol Policy, Student Centers Administration is announcing changes to our Alcohol Policy. The new Alcohol Service at Events policy will be effective beginning July 1, 2012. This policy has been reviewed and approved by the Student Centers Advisory Committee.
