The purpose of the IRB is to evaluate research proposals and projects involving human subjects to certify that the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the subjects is adequately protected. This review and approval process fulfills federal requirements making UWP eligible for federal funds, protects the investigator's and the University's liability, and contributes to the quality of research at UWP. The IRB will review protocols submitted to the chair. Meetings are convened as needed and for all full board reviews.
