23rd Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)

The 23rd Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) was held at the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse on April 16-18, 2009. This year the UW System Undergraduate Research Symposium was canceled to encourage students to participate in this conference and to have the opportunity to present their scholarly work to a national audience. To become presenters, undergraduate students submitted abstracts to campus representatives. Presenters were selected based on the quality of their abstracts.

Twelve students participated this year. There were five poster presentations and the presenters were: Tony Koehn (BILSA), Jerrod Parker (BILSA), Paula Olig (BILSA), Jeremy Hemberger (BILSA), Larissa Larsen (LAE), Sarah Bedish (LAE), Michael Annable (LAE), Tyler Bechel (EMS), Kelly Bratkowski (LAE), Zach Lines (BILSA), Alex Stark (BILSA), and Libby Zeman (BILSA). Faculty research advisors Aric Dutelle (Criminal Justice), Ali Olcay, (General Engineering), Wayne Weber, (Biology), Joan Riedle, (Psychology), and Kathryn Lomax, Director of Sponsored Programs were also in attendance.

The Office of Sponsored Programs would like to thank the above students and their research advisors for their work and support of undergraduate research at UW-Platteville.
