The Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence annually recognizes a tenure-track or tenured faculty member who has made distinguished contributions to the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville as an outstanding teacher.

Eligible individuals are university faculty who hold tenure-track or tenured teaching appointments of at least 0.5 FTE. Nominees must have completed at least eight years of teaching at UWP at the time of nomination, three of which must be on tenure track. Nominees may not have received a UW System Underkofler or Regents Teaching Excellence award in the last three years.
Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of an application documenting their outstanding achievements and contributions in their role as a teacher. Their application should provide specific evidence of outstanding achievement in teaching worthy of recognition.
Specific criteria for this award include the following:
The selection committee will consist of one member from each college who are members of the Improvement of Learning Committee. At least two selection committee members will make a classroom visitation to each of the top three finalists.
The award consists of a $1,000.00 honorarium and a UWP recognition plaque. The recipient will be recognized at the Chancellor's Fall Convocation.
Suggestions for nominees may come from administrators or faculty. Self-nominations are also welcome. Nominations must be made to the UW-Platteville Improvement of Learning Committee: Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
