The Agribusiness club was formed to bring together undergraduates with an interest in agriculture. The club provides opportunities to learn about the agribusiness field and experiences necessary to meet challenges facing the industry. Throughout the year the club is involved in several educational, social and community based events.
To accomplish these goals the club invites guest speakers with experience in agricultural finance, sales, marketing, and communications. Field trips to agribusiness firms are also provided for learning experiences. The club competes in the North American College Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) national judging contest each spring at locations across the United States. This competition enables the members to compete and network with people from all over the country with a passion for the agribusiness industry. Since 2006, the club has organized the "Aggie Day" event where students have toured an agribusiness and attended a Brewers baseball game. In recent years the Agribusiness club has assisted the Dairy club with clerking their annual UW-Platteville Pioneer Classic Dairy Sale.
The club meets every other Wednesday in Russell Hall. Meeting dates/times are posted in Russell Hall and available on the PioneerLink website. All majors are encouraged to attend so that all facets of agribusiness can be explored.
