Metered Stalls
Anyone may use a metered stall. The meters must be paid even if a vehicle is displaying a parking permit.
Overnight Parking
Parking is prohibited in all commuter and staff lots and Dorm Circle from 2AM-6AM. Anyone who needs to park in a restricted lot due to a staff/faculty member staying late for work or a student working on an assignment should contact the University Police and speak to an officer to obtain authorization to leave your vehicle during the 2AM-6AM restrictions. Contacting the University Police after a parking citation is issued will not excuse the citation.
Students, staff and groups who have a legitimate need to leave vehicles in Lot 7a overnight must obtain and display an overnight permit before the vehicle is parked.
Lot 7a will be the only regular staff or commuter lot where vehicles will be allowed to park with an
overnight permit, so please make sure that your vehicle is not left overnight in any other staff or commuter lot.
Long Term Parking
No one may leave a vehicle in a university lot for an extended period without contacting the University Police for permission to do so. Leaving vehicles in university lots during holidays and semester breaks must be approved by the University Police prior to leaving campus.
Snow Removal Policy for Residence Hall Parking Lots
In the event of an accumulation of 4 to 5 inches of snow in the residence hall parking lots, the following procedures will be followed:
- Auxiliary Services will provide students with a 24 hour notice of the snow removal schedule.
- Lot schedules will be posted in the main lobby of each residence hall and Glenview Commons.
- A flyer will be placed in each mailbox of the residence halls.
- The snow removal time, date, and location will be announced on the University Radio Station.
- Vehicles may return to the parking lot as soon as the lot has been plowed, and the snow removal crew has left the parking lot.
- Failure to remove a vehicle from a lot during a scheduled snow removal will result in a $50.00 parking citation.
- Any one appealing a citation issued for alternate side/snow removal parking must do so by filing a written appeal form. Download printable APPEAL FORM.
- Should a snow emergency occur, these rules may be altered to accommodate the emergency situation.
Declaration of an Alternate Side Parking Snow Emergency
In the event of a snow storm or the prediction of a snow storm, a “snow emergency” will be declared for the purpose of plowing campus streets and parking lots. This “snow emergency” only pertains to the removal/clearing of snow, and does not affect other university functions/operations. When a “snow emergency” is declared, alternate side parking will be in effect on Greenwood Ave, College Drive to the intersection of Sunset Drive, and all of University Plaza from 2AM to 6AM for two days. Overnight parking in all staff and commuter lots will be restricted.
The fine amount for violating alternate side parking or 2AM-6AM parking restrictions during this time period is $50.00. Anyone appealing a citation issued for alternate side/snow removal parking must complete a written appeal. Download printable APPEAL FORM.
Alternate side parking means that vehicles may only park on one side of the street from 2AM-6AM when parking is normally allowed on both sides. On even days of the month vehicles shall be parked on the north or west side of the streets. On odd days, all vehicles shall be parked on the south or east side of the street. (Please remember for enforcement purposes the date changes at midnight.)
