Student Employment Wage Guidelines
Effective June 1, 2006
- Work performed under close supervision, procedures and tasks are well established, decision making takes place in context of well defined policies and/or procedures
- Level of review is intermittent to high
- Minimal leadership roles assigned
- Minimal/no previous skill or technical knowledge required

WAGE RANGE: $6.50 TO $7.80 (hourly wage)
- Work that requires, for a major portion of the time, some independent
judgment and initiative and/or previous skill or technical knowledge

Work is reviewed intermittently
Procedures general, worker must exercise some judgment
May be difficult to find interested applicants
WAGE RANGE: $6.60 TO $8.80 (hourly wage)
- Work that requires specialized knowledge, skills or abilities; work that
involves supervisory responsibilities for complex activities; and/or
requires employee qualities that are in limited supply

Skill/knowledge more complex
Work reviewed when initiated by worker and/or in general performance review
WAGE RANGE: $6.70 TO $9.80 (hourly wage)
- Graduate student with duties in: teaching, administration, advanced discipline/skill/knowledge

Utilizing and requiring a bachelor’s degree
WAGE RANGE: $6.80 TO $10.00 (hourly wage)
