LTE - Custodian

Rate:
$9.591/hour. This is a limited term employment (LTE) positions.

Duties:
50% GOAL 1: Provide custodial services in State operated buildings.
W.A. 1.1 Clean classrooms and offices: clean chalkboards; empty wastebaskets and pencil sharpeners; sweep floors; wash woodwork and furniture; dust chairs, desks, tables, etc.; replace lights; clean fixtures; wash walls and windows; seal and wax floors and clean erasers.
1.2 Clean washrooms: empty wastebaskets, sweep floors, clean toilet bowls, clean urinals, clean mirrors, wash woodwork and fixtures, wet mop floors, clean wash bowls and supply dispensers.
1.3 Clean corridors and steps; dust woodwork, wet mop floor area and steps, clean drinking fountains, clean and replace lights, wash woodwork and walls, and clean windows and other glass.
1.4 General duties as required: assemble furniture and other equipment, move furniture and other equipment, deliver packages, prepare different areas for school functions, conventions, athletic events, concerts and other programs.
1.5 Fill in for employees on vacation, sick leave or leave of absence.
1.6 Fill water softener with salt as needed in any building.
25% GOAL 2: Provide Service and Operate Specialized Machines
W.A. 2.1 Operate steam extractor, carpet cleaning machine, with proper chemicals.
2.2 Operate high-speed burnishing machine, on floors in classrooms, offices and corridors.
2.3 Operate boom truck for washing exterior windows of buildings.
2.4 Operate radio to communicate with management and staff.
25% GOAL 3: Assist Supervisor with Special Projects and Special Events
W.A. 3.1 Helps with Fieldhouse functions, ball games, concerts, etc.
3.2 Moves furniture and equipment.
3.3 Moves supplies from building to building as needed.
3.4 Helps in academic buildings in setting up for special events.
3.5 Helps in academic buildings when special cleaning is needed (flooding, spills, broken windows, etc.).
3.6 Other duties as assigned, help with maintenance work as needed.
