Department of Criminal Justice
Assistant Professor (CJTSI01/10-02)

Tenure Track position in the Department of Criminal Justice - 9 month contract.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Forensic Sciences, Criminalistics, or closely related discipline is preferred. A Master's degree in Forensic Sciences /Criminalistics is required with 3- 5 years experience in both criminal investigative work, and adult education teaching required. Experience or expertise in decomposition related research and fingerprint analysis highly preferred.

Applicants must also have a demonstrated commitment to or substantive experience with racially diverse populations, especially those presented in the United States. A willingness to collaborate with faculty and related criminal justice agencies.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility will be to teach forensic investigation undergraduate courses. The typical teaching load is twelve credits per semester. The successful applicant will assume a leadership role in implementing the Forensic Investigation major. The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students, and participate in department, college, university and public service.

Criminal Justice at UW-Platteville:
The Criminal Justice Department, in the College of Liberal Arts and Education, has 8 full-time tenure track positions, and regular employs an additional 5 academic staff and 1 administrative assistant. The department offers an on campus undergraduate degree and online undergraduate and graduate degrees in Criminal Justice. The undergraduate program offers BA or BS and the graduate program offers a MS in criminal justice. Criminal justice class sizes are approximately 30 students.
