Graphic Designer/Media Specialist

Position:
Half-time Graphic Designer/Media Specialist academic staff position in the Publications Office

Responsibilities:
The person occupying this half-time academic staff position in the UW-Platteville Publications Office will be responsible for advanced duties including, but not limited to, assisting with the development of a content management system along with creating of graphics and designs/layouts that will be used for marketing UW-Platteville. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of publications and visual materials to meet the needs of the university, its faculty, staff and students, as well as alumni and friends. This position will be responsible for the layout of complex publications as assigned with the use of pre-press computer programs, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat and will specialize in Admission and Tri-State Initiative recruiting materials. This position reports directly to the Director of Publications.

Requirements:
The employee will need at least a bachelor's degree in graphic design or related degree and related experience to be eligible for this position and must have extensive knowledge in the area of commercial art. Requires demonstrated experience with design software, strong computer and customer service skills, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others are required. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations.

Appointment Date:
April 1 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary:
Commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. Fringe benefits included.
