The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Education seeks a tenure track reading/literacy/education professor with a breadth of knowledge/experience in elementary education. The ability to teach and develop graduate and undergraduate reading courses and curriculum is critical. Experience conducting reading clinics is preferred. Teaching assignment(s) may include some other courses.
Applicant must have a Ph. D. or Ed. D., in Reading/Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction, or related education field. ABD will be considered with understanding that Ph.D. or Ed.D. must be completed within three (3) years of start date. Candidate must have a minimum of three years K-12 school experience. Candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to and experience with racially diverse populations. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, and a willingness to develop relationships with schools served by UW-Platteville. Position requires strong background in reading, literacy and teaching. Knowledge and skills appropriate to the reading professorship as well as skills in data-based teaching, assessment, and learning decisions are needed. May be asked to teach courses using alternative delivery methods.
