Accounting
Assistant Professor in Accounting, tenure track, 9-month, full time.
Review of applications will begin December 1, 2009 and continue until the position is filled. Position available: August 22, 2010.
Teaching courses in accounting and other business disciplines in on-campus and distance education settings. Additional duties include academic advising, research and scholarly activity, and academic and professional service to the university and the community.
The position requires one of the following four educational backgrounds: (1) a masters degree in Accounting; (2) an MBA and current licensure as a Certified Public Accountant [CPA], Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); (3) an advanced degree in a business discipline and CPA licensure; (4) a law degree and CPA licensure. Applicants must possess specialized educational or professional experience in tax accounting or auditing.
Additional requirements: excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations; and willingness to teach courses in classroom settings and at a distance using alternative delivery methods.
Preferred qualifications: licensure as a CPA, CMA, CIA or CFE; doctorate in accounting; a combination of two years of college level teaching or experience as an accounting practitioner; experience using accounting, educational and tax software.
