First Year Experience
The Program Coordinator for First Year Experience is a full-time, annual position starting August 1, 2013. The minimum salary for this position is $38,000.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
- At least two years of professional full time working experience with undergraduate students in a higher education setting.
- Experience with advising &/or counseling at-risk undergraduate students.
- Working knowledge of best practices that contribute to retention.
- Detail-oriented, takes direction well, has the capacity to be a leader and a role model.
- Can work strongly independently and in a team setting.
- Skilled in collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, group facilitation and organizational skills.
- The ability to exercise initiative when appropriate.
- Master's degree.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, web maintenance, and social media.
Under direct supervision of the Executive Director, this position will support activities conducted by the First Year Experience (FYE) office. Primary responsibility is to coordinate the summer bridge program and assist with student retention activities. This position will also be responsible for assisting with coordination of the Intro to College Life courses, maintaining web pages and social media, and developing marketing materials for the FYE program. In addition, the Program Coordinator will advise and support at-risk students and collaborate with faculty, staff and offices across campus.
