Wisconsin Epsilon Chapter - Tau Beta Pi
Tau Beta Pi is the National Engineering Honor Society. It was founded atLehigh University in 1885 and honors ALL engineering disciplines. Tau Beta Pi was founded by Dr. Edward Higginson Williams, Jr., "to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as undergraduates in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges." --Preamble to the Constitution The Wisconsin Epsilon Chapter was established February 01, 1992.
How am I eligible to join?
Candidates eligible for election consideration by a collegiate chapterfall into five general categories:
3.Alumni of the chapter's institution who were eligible as students.
4.Alumni of other institutions who were eligible as students.
5.Engineers of high attainment in the profession, regardless of college attended, scholastic record, or educational background.
To be eligible as an undergraduate student, you must be in the top 1/8 of the junior engineering class or be in the top 1/5 of the senior engineering class. Graduate students must also be in the top 1/5 of their class.
