Minutes of December 3, 1998 Meeting

Next Meeting is February 4, 1998!

The meeting was called to order by President Erin Rischette at 4:01PM.

1.  Announcements
-Leadership Conference, January 27 (W), 6-10PM, need to register by Dec. 15.
	A signup was passed around.

2.  The Minutes of 11/5/98 were approved with a change to correct the 
	misspelling of Mike A's daughters name, Mya.

3.  Nothing new from Treasurer/VP Mark Bertolasi.

4.  Committee Reports
	Sunrayce - A lot of work accomplished.  A lot more to do.  Contact Wink
		if you are interested.
	Physics is Phantastic
		Science Fair - People went to Muscoda to judge Physics demos
		and Rube Goldberg devices.
		Award Report - Due 12/15.  Mark has a rough draft.
		Mike will try to set up a demo for early January, Muscoda?
	Colloquim - Lt. Steve Felker, USN, last meeting - free pizza and soda.
	Trip/Social - 
		Movie Night - December 4 (F), KCMR of Brockert - Real Genius 7PM
		Christmas Social - December 11 @ Prof. Wilson's, 5PM
		Fermi Lab 2/6, Chicago Mus. of Sci & Industry 2/27, both Sat
	Bulletin Board - cleaned, SPS Pizza Party pics to post.
	SPS Zone Meeting Spring 99 - Went to IL, Erin gave a presentation.
		They got a tour of IL Wesleyan's Physics Dept--Impressive.

5.  Nominations for Zone Councilor and Associate Councilor-
	JJ Wilson for Councilor, Erin for a second term

6.  Sigma Pi Sigma - Physics Honor Society, Need 3 Semesters of college,
     	3 Semesters of Physics, Upper 1/3 of class.

7.  Scholarship Applications - Nat'l Scholarships avaiable - Mark B. won one
     	Due February 15.

8.  Blake Lilly Prize - Due April 15.   Our Physics is Phantastic is
	appropriate program to use to apply for prize.  Win Fenyman Lectures.

9.  Other
	Math Club wants to work with SPS on projects and stuff.
	Greg is graduating.

Mark Eldrege motioned to adjourned the meeting.  Jason Fingerson seconded it.
