Minutes for November 18, 1999

The meeting was called to order by President Erin Rischette at 4:04 PM.

1.  Announcements
    A.  Check out the meteor shower tonight!
    B.  Next meeting is December 2.

2.  The November 4, 1999 were approved as written.

3.  Treasurer's Report
    The money for the scholarship has been given to the foundation.

4.  Committee Reports
    A.  Physics is Phar-Out
        i.   Mark put on a show yesterday. The show went well. 
        ii.  The schedule for the show on Tuesday has been changed.  There 
             will be one show at 9 AM.  Meet at 8 AM to head out, the show 
             should last about an hour.  We will try to be back by 11 AM for 
             anyone who has a class.
    B.  Colloquium
        Dr. Hamilton has said that he will put on a colloquium, but he has not 
        yet specified a time.
    C.  Trip/Social
        i.   The trip to Genoa to visit the nuclear plant went very well! 
             There were about 10 people that went.  The host gave a full tour 
             of the plant, with a prepared presentation!  
        ii.  The SPS Christmas Social is Friday, December 3 at 
             Professor Wilson's home. There will be a cookie bake 
             Thursday, December 2 starting at 1 PM in 205 Otts.   
    D.  Bulletin Board
        No Report.

5.  Canoes
    Look for an e-mail about the current status of canoe making! It sounds 
    like the special topics course probably won't work out.

6.  Marsh White Award
    Two of the members of SPS who have been helping to plan the Physics Phun-
    Shop will not be able to attend if it takes place April 15. Look for a 
    letter asking for a vote on whether to change the date of the workshop.
