Minutes of September 3, 1998 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Erin Rischette at 4:01PM.

1.  Announcements
	Annual Pizza Party to be September 25.
	SPS Research Colloquium
	Our chapter has received another Outstanding Chapter Award.

2.  The minutes were approved as read from 5/7/98.

3.  Treasurer's Report
	Vice President/Treasurer Mark Bertolasi reported our chapter financial
	status.  Over the summer, JJ Wilson purchased a volleyball set to be 
	used at SPS outings.  A decision was made to reimburse JJ Wilson for 
	the cost of the purchase.

4.  Committees/Appointments
	Sunrayce
		Important meeting tonight at 7PM
		No Appointments
	
	Appointments will be taken at the next meeting for the following
	committees:
		Physics is Phantastic
		Colloquia
		Trips/Social

5.  Pizza Party
	Friday evening September 25 at JJ Wilson's house.
	Must have membership paid to attend.
	Time to be determined as well as pizza logistics.

6.  SUFAC
	SPS will be making a request for funding to host a Zone meeting in the
	spring of 1999.

7.  SPS Zone Meeting - Spring 1999
	Erin will be chairing this committee seeing as she is the new associate
	zone councilor.  Contact her to join.

8.  Annual Fall Organization Fair
	People needed to man a table at the Ullsvik Center on Tuesday,
	September 15 from 11AM to 1 PM.
	An email will go out for volunteers.

9.  Tutors
	SPS has been contacted by the Athletic Department to help provide
	tutors twice a week at an Athletic Study Hall in Doudna on Mondays and
	Thursdays from 7:30-9:30PM.  Contact Erin for more info.

10.  M Steps
	SPS will be helping with the construction of new steps at the M on
	Saturday, September 19.  Volunteers are needed.  More info will be
	available.

11.  Dave Dresser Memorial
	SPS decided to add to a written memorial of Dave Dresser, who died this
	past spring.  This memorial is being compiled by the Physics Dept and
	will be given to members of Dave's family.  

12.  Canoe Trips
	Scheduled for the next two Saturdays the 5th and 12th.
	Mike Aufdermauer and son will be coordinating a small group on the 5th.  
	Sean Lynch will be planning one on the 12th.  Email should be going
	out.
